Project

Lionwood.software took on the task of working on CRM and interactive dashboards for a US-based company that provides hard- and software for field spraying. The system involves the use of hardware to detect and send over data from the fields, helping identify areas that need attention, and software that assists field workers and managers in analyzing the data and working towards a more rational use of pesticides, etc., towards a sustainable model. The Lionwood team worked on the software part to provide the necessary UX for everyone in the paradigm.

Client

AgTechLogic is a leading provider of advanced intelligent precision spraying and farm data solutions with a mission of drastically reducing the amount of pesticides used. Its vision is to empower farmers with valuable intel, gathered from their technology to allow cost and chemical savings, optimizations and efficiencies. Their solution, Agtellio, is based on the use of IoT to detect critical knowledge of their farm land early on, such as weeds, pests, irrigation issues while also tracking historical data, spray operator activity and real time cost savings.

Challenge

Since the project expanded to process different types of data, applicable for different courses of action, there was a need to create a system that could handle and visualize the field insights in a way that was convenient enough for the decision makers at different levels: AI-analyzed photos, photographs taken from tractors and drones, and so on. All this called for the necessary expertise in CRM UX to shape the data into actionable insights in the form of dashboards. The discovery stage of the project thus included a detailed analysis of the product, exchange of best practices and insights, and meticulous feature prioritization.

Results

Lionwood software has delivered the dashboards and is continuing collaboration with the client to further develop the overall vision using visual data to reduce pesticide use in the fields. The dashboards include customized farm insights including real time cost and herbicide usage/savings, operator efficiencies, weed identification and density, alerts and notifications. These results were made possible with discovery-phase sessions with the client-side experts exchanging best practices in the industry.
